Spice Board Registration
Introduction
No person shall begin or carry on the export business of any spice unless it has obtained registration under the Spice board for making such export.The Spices Board is the regulatory and export promotion body for Indian spices under the Indian government. The Spices Board was formed in 1987 with the merger of the former Cardamom Board (1968) and the Spices Export Promotion Council (1960), under the Spices Board Act 1986. And have the responsibility of producing/developing cardamom and promoting exports of 52 spices shown in the timetable of the Act.

- Research & product development
An application for the grant of a certificate shall be sent to the Board in such form as may be approved and shall be followed by a receipt showing the payment of the approved charge. The Board shall On receipt of such application:
- May accept the application and grant license for that or may send again for making rectification in the application as per the requirement
- Do the onsite verification of exporter’s unit
- May reject the application if the application is not the prescribed format
Steps for Spice Board registration
Step 1 Make registration under Spice board website and get the application numberStep 2 Fill the application form online (Part I and Part II)Step 3 Make the application fees payment through NEFT onlyStep 4 After completion of form Part I and Part II generate a hard copy of the application affix sign and seal of signatory and company respectively at appropriate place and forward it to concern designated officers of the board in the concerned region along with relevant documentsStep 5 Check the status of the application after 7-10days of submission
Documents required for registration
- Form Form-1 (Application in prescribed format)
- IE (import-export) code certificate (Self-attested copy)
- Detailed bank report against the current account from your banker in the prescribed format
- Partnership deed/ Memorandum and Articles of Association self-attested (as per the form of business).
- GST registration certificate (self-attested).
- Certificate issued by the directorate of industries in case of manufacturer-exporter of spices (self-attested).
- PAN card copy of establishment (self-attested)
- CEO or the designated officer’s Passport size photograph with the white background of your firm.

Q. Certificate of registration can be cancelled?A. Registration can be suspended/cancelled under the Spices Board Act & Rules and the power delegated to Spices Board. Q. What is the validity of the CRES?A. Certificate of Registration as Exporter is issued for a block period of three years. The present block period commenced from 1st September 2011 and would expire on 31st August 2014. Any Certificate issued during the current block period would be valid only upto 31.8.2014
